David

Full name: David Lindsey Pittman

Primary role in band: Bassist (guy who jumps around a lot on stage because no one can hear if he messes up anyway), backup vocalist, songwriter.

E-mail address: MillennialDavid@aol.com

Date of birth: Jan. 10, 1984

Musical past: My first instrument was a Casio keyboard that I got as a gift when I was about 6 or 7. I never took lessons or learned any sort of music theory, and lost interest after a while. Then, after I started listening to guitar-driven bands (particularly The Offspring), I decided I wanted an electric guitar. So I started playing guitar when I was 15. Originally, I was going to be a guitarist for 5FP, but since we couldn't find a dedicated bass player and we didn't really need three guitarists, I started playing bass.

Musical influences: The Offspring is the reason I wanted to play guitar in the first place, so I naturally got into the simplicity of punk rock pretty early. Since I started playing guitar, I've picked up a few Satriani and Vai CDs to challenge the shredder in me. AFI has been particularly inspirational to me lately, although I doubt I'll ever be able to write songs as well as those guys.

Equipment used:
Bass: Black Fender Standard J-Bass
Guitars: Black Fender Standard Strat, gray nickel Ibanez AX120, and a Fender acoustic (dunno what type or year)
Amps: Fender Frontman 15R and Marshall Park G10 MKII (and I'll hopefully get a bass amp at some point)
Effects: BOSS Metal Zone, Dunlop Crybaby wah, and Zoom GFX-707
Strings: Fender Super Bullets 3250Rs (10-46) for guitar, Fender Super Bass 7250Ls (40-100) for bass
Picks: Dunlop Gator Grip (.96mm for guitar and 1.5mm for bass)
Mic: Shure AXS1

Words to live by: "Hey, maybe bassists are good for something after all." (Spoken by an anonymous bystander during a practice session.)
